We have been learning Haiku Poems in Room 11.
Haiku poems need to have 3 lines. The first line must have five syllables, the second seven and the last five. SO this is a 5,7,5 structure.

To celebrate Te wiki o Te reo Māori, we have been practising our Pepeha. We used the picture Pepeha we made in term one.
Marcus has produced a fantastic animated slideshow to demonstrate how a Kina Barren forms when we overfish in the sea around New Zealand. His slideshow also shows how we can return parts of the ocean to balance when we make them marine reserves. Well done Marcus!
We have been learning about heat and temperature in reading and maths time. Students did an investigation at the beginning of our learning on this topic, to find out more about temperature.
Room 11 students have been developing their skills in descriptive tetxs describing characters and settings. We then put it all together to write about either an alien spaceship or the best ever tree house. Here are some examples below.
